Both me and a friend are totally blind, and will be staying at a mariat in Philadelphia. He is diabetic and I want to be sure we get our meals. this is a package deal I picked up from southwest airlines. Anyway, any tips on staying in a hotel and getting our meals? I think the restaurant sounds nice and we may just do that the whole time, but I would like to hear others experiences on staing in a mariat hotel.
Just speak to the management when you check in on the things you need. If you don't get them when you need them, open your mouth and ask again. Nothing different.
Smile.
I'm confused, why would the brand of hotel prevent or aid you in getting your
meals? If you want a meal, go get one. If you don't, don't go get one. If you
need a diabetic friendly meal, go get one of those. That would be true at any
hotel.
Well, that is how it works.
Staying at any hotel, blind, or sighted, is no different for either type person.
If you require a service, you have to ask for it.
Marriots are 4 star hotels, and will do what you want either in the restaurant or room service. Usually their staffs are better than average.
That's why I asked about mariat; I had heard they wer very accommodating and since neither my friend or I know where the restaurant is, I thought I would ask questions about services. We will speak up that's for sure. Neither one of us have ever taken a vacation like this. Both senior citizens so thought we would enjoy a weekender since we live far apart. Thanks for the input.
Your best bet if you don't know where the restaurant is would probably be a
cab or an uber, not the hotel. They might have a transportation service, I'm not
sure. But if they do, it'll probably be costly.
The restaurant is mostly likely in the lobby.
An elevator ride away.
You should call, or go online and check out what the particular one you'll be at offers.
Whoever booked your trip should have provided that information I'd guess?
Some nights, they might offer entertainment, just lots of things, so call and ask about what will be available during your stay, and what is attached.
I agree with those others on here and best to call and ask what is available or not and inform them of your needs and just ask for assistance in where you wish to go as staff members at hotels are pretty accommodating and are pretty helpful too and i hope you enjoy your vacation away, smiles.
Had a great time with my friend in the hotel. mariat staff was very helpful. We ate in the restaurant and also had room service. The package deal was worth it.
Sweetness. Smile.
Go soon again now.
